PENDLETON — After only one year of existence, the Blue Mountain Community College’s men’s soccer program is getting a new head coach.BMCC announced on Tuesday that Austin Shick has been hired as the newest men’s soccer coach, replacing Art Mota after one season.
ASHLAND – Davie Carmichael, a native of Scotland with NAIA roots and a track record of success in multiple roles at the NCAA level, has been tapped to become Southern Oregon University’s next head men’s soccer coach, SOU Director of Athletics Matt Sayre announced Tuesday.
PORTLAND, Ore. – Native Congolese and current Portland Community College player Axel Mbuyu has become the latest recruit to sign with Multnomah University for the fall 2018 men’s soccer season, giving new head coach Dalon Parker a stable of seven signees since his arrival in January.
The NPSS girl’s soccer team had a good start to the season, going 2-2 at the UBC Women’s Soccer Tournament in Vancouver last weekend. It was their first games of the season.
Coastal FC’s premier men’s soccer team has its second trophy of the season, after a convincing victory Saturday evening over Langley in the Soccer City Premier League Cup championship game.
The game – played at Newton Athletic Park – saw the Semiahmoo Peninsula side rush out to an early lead and never look back, en route to a 4-0 shutout.

PALMER, AK — It was only a scrimmage. But the Palmer Moose could not have been more excited.
After spending weeks steadily chipping away the snow and ice from their own turf at Machetanz Field, the Moose had a chance to scrimmage Homer Friday afternoon at Colony High School.
“Absolutely great, so exciting,” Palmer head coach Harmony Chadwick said after the scrimmage. “We still haven’t (played on) a full field at home.
During the offseason, the Alaska Schools Activities Association Board of Directors voted to split the 31 schools that feature girls and boys soccer into multiple classes. While the collective changes are drawing mixed reviews, Palmer girls head coach Harmony Chadwick is thrilled about the new Division II level, which features Valley programs from Palmer, Houston and Redington.
“I’m super excited,” Chadwick said. “I think its more equal for us.”
The Homer High School girls’ soccer team held our inaugural “Trot to the Top” fun run this past Saturday, which started at Homer Middle School and provided three distances that runners could compete in.

The U.S. women’s soccer team named Boise native Sofia Huerta to its roster ahead of two April friendlies with Mexico. The Mexican national team also named American Falls High grad Maria Sanchez to its roster.
If Sofia Huerta makes the 18-player game day roster for the matches against Mexico on either April 5 and April 8, and gets onto the field, she would become the first player to play for Mexico against the USA and for the USA against Mexico.
